  Knowing your BMW's service needs is truly the first step in owning the "Ultimate driving machine"

Did you know: your BMW requires routine maintenance services to be performed every year or every 10,000 miles. Whichever one is exceeded first. Depending on your current mileage at the time of service.  Most BMW vehicle's are equipped with the capability to inform you when these services are required.  BMW service list is as follows: 

Every 10,000 miles or 12 months is a Safety & Oil Service :

Oil change, Oil filter change. Checking of the...Brakes, Horn, Windshield wipers and wiper fluid, Indicator lights and dashboard warning lights, Steering linkage, Engine coolant, Rubber belts and hoses, Suspension components, Check for fluid leaks and Check tire pressure.

    First 30,000 miles, then every 60,000 miles after that, is Inspection 1:

This includes everything from prior inspections. Verify the engine temperature. Check power steering system, rear axle, and transmission for leaks. Check the exhaust system for leaks, proper positioning and mounting, and overall condition. Check front control arm and bushing for wear. Check steering system for absence of play and overall condition. Clean the brake pad contact points, check the brake disc surfaces, and examine the thickness of your brake pads. Examine brake lines and clutch system connectors for leaks, damage, and proper positioning. Check positioning and movement of parking brake cables. 

Every 60,000 miles is Inspection 2:

All components of Inspection 1. Inspection of parking brake lining. Replacement of spark plugs. Replacement of air filters.Examination of flexible boots for leaks.

  Here is an outline of what inspections you would go in for during the first 120,000 miles:

10,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

20,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

30,000 miles: Inspection 1

40,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

50,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

60,000 miles: Inspection 2

70,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

80,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

90,000 miles: Inspection 1

100,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

110,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

120,000 miles: Inspection 2.

Mercedes-Benz A Service

The A Service first visit is at approximately 10,000 miles or 1 year. 
Then it is approximately every 20,000 miles or 2 years.

The A/B Service first visit is at approximately 10,000 miles or 1 year after the previous service.

      KNOW YOUR MINI COOPER
 

If you own a MINI Cooper than you know that "Let's Motor" means, extreme speed and power can come in a small package.

Did You Know: Your Mini Cooper will use about 1/2 quart of engine oil for every 7,000 miles. Don't be alarmed by this, do to the way the Mini Coopers engine is manufactured this is normal. However if you are seeing more than this being used, your Mini may have an oil leak. But your service technician can identify any problems. Mini Coopers require a service every year, however we recommend that you have your Mini checked every 6 months.

To ensure your Mini's fluid levels are topped off, this will keep it in peak performance. Now let talk a little about the services your mini my need.

Mini Coopers have 3 types of service: Oil Change, Inspection 1, and Inspection 2.

      Your vehicle will notify you which service type you need, by displaying on dash/cluster.

 The services come in this order, Oil change, Service 1, Oil Change, Service 2. repeat...

Oil Change
This service changes the oil and oil filter. It also includes: inspecting Brakes, Parking Brake, Fluid levels, Tire Condition and Air Pressure. At Pearce Autotech we also perform a complete under-car inspection along with hoses, belt and lights check, and reset the oil change indicator.

Inspection 1 (Minor service)
Includes services in Oil Change (above) plus: change Interior Ventilation Filter, change Transmission fluid if CVT, add Windshield Washer fluid, check Wipers and Washers, lubricate doors and locks, check Battery condition, Suspension, CV boots, Exhaust System, Manual Transmission fluid level, pressure check Cooling System, and reset Service Indicator and road test for overall performance.

Inspection 2 (Major service)
Includes services from Oil Change and Inspection 1 plus: change Air Filter, Engine Coolant, flush Brake fluid, and mileage. Model dependent add on's include: Spark Plugs (100K), Belt change (100k cooper 60K S) and Oxygen Sensor (100K).

AUDI service is as follows:

Oil Change 

Synthetic oil change and oil filter replacement, Check AdBlue fluid (Depends on model) Check engine filter / A/C filters, Battery test, Belts and tensioners check, check brake system, check all fluid level, Check Cooling System, Inspect for engine oil leaks, Check exterior and interior lights. Reset Service Indicator and road test for overall performance.  

    If you drive a turbo-charged or supercharged model, we recommend changing your oil every 5,000 miles due to the extreme heat these engines produce; late model non-turbo charged engines should change oil every 7,500 miles. On older models or models using mineral based oil, we recommend changing your oil every 5,000 miles.

10,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

20,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

30,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

40,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

50,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

60,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

70,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

80,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

90,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

100,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

110,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.

120,000 miles: Oil & Safety Check.
